More rain, hailstorm expected in Lahore, parts of Punjab

In Lahore and parts of Punjab, more rainfall is expected along with isolated heavy showers and hailstorms over the next few days, starting from Friday night.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department notes a weather system called a westerly wave affecting the western and upper regions of the country, likely to continue for the next two to three days.

This weather pattern predicts rain, wind, and thunderstorms in various areas including Murree, Galyat, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, and more. Landslides are possible in hilly areas like Murree and Galyat. Windstorms, hailstorms, and lightning may also occur, affecting people, crops, and structures.

In Lahore, maximum temperatures are expected to be between 35-37 degrees Celsius over the weekend. Rain and thunderstorms have already been experienced in some parts of Punjab.

The hottest place recorded recently was Kasur at 42 degrees Celsius, while Lahore reached a maximum temperature of 38 degrees Celsius with a relative humidity of 25 percent in the evening.
