The National Database Registration Authority (Nadra) issues a Child Registration Certificate or B-form for all minors in Pakistan. This certificate is essential for registering a newborn in Nadra’s records and is considered a child’s basic right. Nadra has automated the process of obtaining these certificates, making it easier for parents to get them.
To apply for a CRC, parents need to provide proof of the child’s birth from the union council and must themselves have a National Identity Card (NIC) or National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP). It’s mandatory for parents to register their children within three months of their birth according to the rules.

B-Form Application process
To get a B-Form, start by going to the nearest NADRA office. Bring the child’s computerized birth certificate and come with one parent or a court-appointed guardian. If both parents are there, one will apply, and the other will verify. If only one parent is present, the application must be verified by a Gazetted Officer or public representative. The child must be there for the ID card. They’ll take a photo and fingerprints if the child is 10 or older.
