Eidul Fitr Holidays Announced in Dubai for Private Schools & Universities

  • Eidul Fitr 2024 holidays for Dubai private schools and universities are announced.
  • The holidays will be from April 8 to April 14, with schools resuming on April 15.
  • This gives students and staff a nine-day break, starting at the weekend.

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has officially declared the Eidul Fitr 2024 holidays for private schools, universities, and nurseries in Dubai. According to the announcement, these educational institutions will remain closed from April 8 to April 14 to commemorate the joyous occasion of Eidul Fitr.

The Eid holidays will provide students, teachers, and staff with a well-deserved break, allowing them to celebrate with family and friends and engage in festive activities. It’s worth noting that the holidays will technically begin on the weekend, starting from Saturday to Sunday, extending the break to a nine-day period.

Eidul Fitr, which falls on the first day of Shawwal in the Islamic calendar, marks the end of Ramadan 2024. This holy month of fasting lasts for either 29 or 30 days, depending on the moon sighting, and culminates in the joyous celebrations of Eidul Fitr.

After the holiday period, schools are scheduled to resume educational activities on April 15, which falls on a Monday. This schedule provides a seamless transition back to academic routines for students and faculty alike.

The announcement by KHDA ensures that educational institutions in Dubai align their schedules with the cultural and religious observances of the community, fostering inclusivity and respect for diverse traditions. It also allows families to plan their celebrations and gatherings during this significant time with clarity and convenience.
