The third and final Ashra of the holy month of Ramadan 2024 is set to commence from Monday, April 1, with people eagerly anticipating the festival of Eid ul Fitr.

Traditionally, federal and provincial governments declare public holidays for schools and all other sectors, allowing students and others to celebrate the festival with enthusiasm and joy.

This year, Ramadan is expected to last 29 days, with Eid likely to be observed on Wednesday, April 10. In the midst of this anticipation, students are awaiting the official announcement of the Eid holidays, which the government has yet to make.

Projected Eid Holidays for schools in Punjab

The Punjab government, like other provinces, has not yet issued an official notification for Eid holidays. It is anticipated that if Eid falls on April 10, schools would observe six holidays from April 9 to 14.

If Eidul Fitr 2024 is observed on April 11, schools in Punjab are expected to have five holidays from April 10 to 14, with classes resuming on April 15.

The final decision regarding Eidul Fitr will be made by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee following the sighting of the Shawal moon.
