Today, March 25, marks the observation of the first lunar eclipse of 2024, announced by the Pakistan Meteorological Department. This eclipse will be of the penumbral type, subtly dimming the moon’s light without fully covering it.

The lunar eclipse today will be penumbral, as the eclipse will not cover a major portion of the moon but will fade its light slightly.

Beginning at 9:53 am, reaching its peak at 12:12 noon, and concluding at 2:32 pm, the eclipse will last approximately 4 hours and 40 minutes.

Regions for Lunar Eclipse Visibility

While regions including the United States, Europe, Australia, Africa, and parts of Asia will witness the phenomenon, Pakistan and India will not have visibility of the eclipse.

However, skygazers in other parts of the world are eagerly anticipating the celestial event.

Next Lunar Eclipse of 2024

Looking ahead, the second lunar eclipse of 2024 is scheduled for September 17, as per the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s forecasts.
