GWADAR: Explosions and intense gunfire have been reported in the vicinity of the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) Complex, said sources citing security officials.

Responding to the terrorist attack in Gwadar, law enforcement agencies are engaging in countermeasures, with additional forces being deployed to manage the situation.

Security personnel have cordoned off the area surrounding the GPA Complex, which houses various offices of the Gwadar Port Authority, law enforcement agencies, and residential accommodations. The GPA Complex serves as a hub for commercial activities, hosting facilities such as bank branches, stevedores, agency offices, cargo storage sheds, and marine repair workshops, spread across 69 acres of land.

The construction of these infrastructures, estimated at Rs. 2381.884 million, was initiated by GPA to support investors and generate revenue.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that Pakistan will not tolerate any further cross-border terrorist incursions.

Chairing a federal cabinet meeting in Islamabad, PM Shehbaz Sharif underscored the significance of safeguarding Pakistan’s territorial boundaries.

While Pakistan seeks amicable relations with neighboring countries to bolster trade and economic ties, PM Sharif stressed that the exploitation of neighboring territory for terrorist activities within Pakistan’s borders is unacceptable.
