The Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has launched the Nigehban Ramadan Package, a program aimed at assisting during the sacred month of Ramadan.
This initiative seeks to support every household by offering complimentary Punjab Ehsaas Rashan Riayat and subsidies at utility stores.
How to apply
Registration for the Nigehban Ramadan Package is currently open online. Families already enlisted in the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) with a Poverty Means Test (PMT) score below 32 will automatically qualify for this aid.
For new applicants, an online portal has been established under the Nigehban Free Ita Scheme.
To apply, individuals can visit the official website and fill out the registration form with accurate details, including their name, contact number, national identity card number, and other necessary information.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants will undergo verification and eligibility assessments based on the criteria outlined in the Caretaker Relief Package. Those fulfilling the following conditions will be considered eligible:
- Poverty score below 30 percent
- Income below 60 thousand rupees
- Absence of international travel history or passport issuance
- No vehicle is registered under the applicant’s name.
Benefits
Upon successful verification and approval, eligible candidates will receive a complimentary Ehsaas Rashan Riayat and three bags of 10 kg of flour from utility stores.
Disqualification Criteria
Certain conditions render individuals ineligible for the Nigehban Ramadan Package, including:
- Income exceeding 60 thousand rupees
- A vehicle registered under the applicant’s name
- Poverty scores exceeding 30 percent
- Ownership of registered land
- Performance of Hajj or Umrah
