Balochistan schools shut down for seven days

Schools throughout Balochistan have been shut for a week due to adverse weather conditions, with Quetta and other cold regions set to reopen on March 7 instead of March 1.

The decision comes following a notification issued by authorities. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has reported on the impact of recent rains and floods, with over forty houses affected in Gwadar alone.

Among these, over 50 houses were destroyed, and 90 others suffered partial damage. Assessment efforts are currently underway in Gwadar to gauge the extent of the damage.

Additionally, in Kech, two roads and a bridge were washed away. Relief efforts are ongoing, with tents, blankets, kitchen sets, and other essentials being provided to those affected in Gwadar.
