Sindh authorities has been announced that all private and government evening shift schools in the province will remain closed on Friday (March 1, 2024) as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted heavy rains across the region.

A notice issued by the Sindh School Education and Literacy Department stated that all evening shift schools, both private and public, will be closed throughout the province. This decision coincides with the declaration of a rain emergency by the provincial government.
Additionally, on Friday (March 1), government and private offices in the provincial capital Karachi will operate for half a day, as announced by the newly-elected Sindh Chief Minister in light of the rain emergency.

A potent westerly wave has entered Pakistan and is approaching its western regions. Consequently, the weather system is expected to bring rain, wind, and thunderstorms to areas including Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Larkana, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, and Khairpur.
