RAWALPINDI: Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR) on Wednesday said that six terrorists were killed and one soldier was injured in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) of security forces in North Waziristan.
Security forces acted on information about the presence of terrorists, the said the ISPR and during the operation, security forces and terrorists had a severe encounter.
One soldier was also injured in faring exchange, said the ISPR, adding that arms and explosives were also recovered from the possession of the slain terrorists.
The slain terrorists have been found involved in extortion and abduction of innocent civilians. They were also involved in the operations.
The sanitization operation is also in progress to completely clear the area from terrorists.
The local population welcomed the operation of the security forces whereas they assured the security forces of full cooperation in the fight against the country.
