A surge in Pakistani passport applicants has led to record numbers flocking to passport offices, resulting in a daily influx of thousands of individuals.
In response to the overwhelming demand, the Directorate General of Immigration and Passport has announced that passport delivery counters will operate on weekends nationwide until March 15, 2024. This move aims to accommodate Hajj pilgrims, who can also visit passport delivery centers on Saturdays and Sundays until mid-March.

Additionally, individuals planning to travel abroad can visit passport offices from 9 am to 1 pm, including Fridays, to obtain their passports. Mustafa Qazi, Director General of Immigration and Passports, confirmed the commencement of passport issuance for Hajj pilgrims nationwide, providing relief and excitement to thousands preparing for the pilgrimage. Regional passport offices are also open on Saturdays to assist with passport applications.
The passport application process involves biometric verification and submission to banks. It is crucial for pilgrims to adhere to deadlines, as emphasized by the spokesperson. The last date for passport submission to banks is February 26, 2024.
