Rainfall hit parts of the UAE on Sunday evening, as forecasted by the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). The authority stated that a weak surface pressure system, combined with the extension of an upper-level low-pressure system, is currently influencing the UAE, resulting in cloudiness and precipitation.
Videos circulating on social media depict the extent of precipitation, with clouds enveloping a section of a mountain road in Ras Al Khaimah. Fujairah has also experienced rainfall, as illustrated in the video below, showing cars navigating through the precipitation.
Police departments from various emirates have issued warnings, urging residents to follow the rules and exercise caution to prevent accidents. Ras Al Khaimah police have asked residents to:
- Steer clear of areas with trees that may fall during the unstable weather.
- Avoid sitting near the edges of valleys.
- Supervise children closely.
- Allow space for equipment sent to drain water from roads.
- Prioritise safety by remaining indoors.
- Maintaining a safe distance from other cars while driving.

The Abu Dhabi Police have also issued a warning for motorists, urging them to exercise caution on the roads and to pay attention to changing speed limits displayed on the electronic signboards.
