PTI faces obstacles in getting special seats via MWM Pakistan

Islamabad: It has become difficult for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to get special seats through Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) Pakistan.

According to Election Commission sources, no priority list has been submitted by MWM for the reserved seats for women, and the time has passed to submit the priority list under Section 104 of the Election Act.

Under the Election Act, the political parties could submit the priority list until the last date of submission of nomination papers, while it is not possible to change or add to the priority list after the date of nomination papers.

According to the Election Act, the preference in the lists cannot be changed, and no name can be removed. It should be noted that MWM won one seat in the National Assembly in the elections held on February 8.

On Tuesday, MWM chief Allama Raja Nasir Abbas said that if PTI needs his party, he is ready to hand over the party to him unconditionally.

Earlier, PTI has declared its intention to forge an alliance with  MWM both at the federal level and in Punjab.

Raoof Hasan, the PTI spokesperson, announced in a press conference that the party’s founder has instructed the formation of an alliance with the MWM in both the federal and Punjab arenas.

Additionally, he mentioned that the PTI founder has approved a proposal for collaboration with Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
