ISLAMABAD: Former PMD allied parties have vowed to form a government in Centre and steer the country out of economic crisis.

Addressing a press conference at the residence of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, here on Tuesday night after a detailed huddle, PPPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari said that they have unanimously decided to form the government in centre and steer the country out the economic turmoil, adding that for this purpose they were inviting all political forces including the PTI for the sake of Pakistan’s future.

He said that they had contested the elections against one another under their own manifestos but now the election process was over and this was the time they must unite to resolve issues and problems of the people.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif on the occasion said that independent candidates backed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) can form a government in the Centre if they have the required number of seats in the National Assembly.

“If PTI-sponsored candidates can show majority [in the National Assembly] then they are welcome to form a government,” he said.

“We will accept them [PTI government] happily if they fail to [form government] then we will use our Constitutional and legal right,” the PML-N president said.

Shehbaz also announced that Maryam Nawaz would be the PML-N candidate for the slot of Punjab chief minister.

MQM convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani and IPP President Aleem Khan also spoke on this occasion and supported the views of Zardari and Shehbaz.
