Joe Ruby, Co-creator of popular animated series Scooby-Doo, has passed away in Westlake Village. He was 87.
A representative for Ruby told the international news source that he died due to natural causes after years of battling against health issues.
The animator was born in Los Angeles, Calif on March 30, 1933. He began his career in animation under Walt Disney productions before working as editor and producer.
He served in the US Army after which he met Spears at Hanna-Barbera Productions, where two worked together to create masterpieces including Scooby-Doo.
