Islamabad Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikander Sultan Raja says that when it is felt that there is no security issue, the internet will be opened.
In a statement, the CEC said that the Election of Pakistan (ECP) has its own system, the ECP has nothing to do with the internet, the ECP is not responsible for the internet shutdown,
our own system is working, we are in touch with the government, Election Commission is very strong, and internet issue is not our mandate.
He said that if the voters to check their vote at 8300 today, the voters should have checked their vote after the election scheme was released.
Sikander Sultan further added that there is security problem, so why should the ECP instruct to restore the internet, there is an excellent system for announcing the results, the results can come even at 8 o’clock and even at 9 o’clock, in the EMS system of the provincial constituencies, there are three Work Station for provincial, and four Work Stations for National.
Earlier, the Election Commission has announced a public holiday across the country in connection with the general elections to be held on February 8. However, the election has also issued a regular notification of a public holiday for the general polls.
According to the announcement of the Election Commission, the purpose of the public holiday is to enable voters to exercise their right to vote freely and conveniently.
It should be noted that general elections are going to be held on February 8, in which more than 128 million registered voters will be able to exercise their right to vote.
Earlier, CEC Sikander Sultan Raja has said that there is no possibility of postponing elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
