After the Pakistani men’s teams underwhelming performance in England, there were speculations and rumors about Misbah’s position as head coach and chief selector.
Various sources from the PCB have confirmed that Misbah will indeed stay as chief selector and the rumors were baseless as there were no such discussions in the PCB.

“We have neither discussed it nor is it in our plans. It’s a completely baseless story,” said one PCB official.
The reports first popped up after the Press Trust of India (PTI) started the conversation on august 22nd. The story stated that; Misbah might be asked to step down in order to focus on his job as head coach.
The story was instantly picked up by local and international media with reports also speculating that a former “fiery, outspoken fast bowler” might be Misbah’s replacement as chief selector.
