Nadra issues a cancellation certificate when it cancels an ID card due to the death of a citizen. A blood relative with a valid National Identity Card or NICOP, along with the death certificate from the union council and the graveyard certificate, can apply for this cancellation. The Nadra Registration Centre destroys the original ID card of the deceased to prevent any misuse.
