Punjab School Timings Changed Due To Heatwave Risk!

Punjab schools change timings from February 1, 2024

All schools in Punjab are slated to return to their regular schedules on February 1, 2024, following the announcement from the provincial education department.

The conclusion of winter timing, which had been extended until January 31, marks a transition back to normalcy for schools across the province.

The recent extension of winter timing, effective until January 31, was implemented in both public and private schools.

According to the notification, during this period, schools were instructed to operate on weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with Fridays ending at 12:30 p.m.

In the past, the provincial education department had introduced revised timings for public and private schools in Lahore during the winter season. Boys’ schools were scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday and Saturday, with a continuous session on Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Girls’ schools in the provincial capital adhered to a time of 8:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays, closing at 12:00 p.m. every Friday.

Meanwhile, speculations on social media suggest that educational institutions nationwide might observe an extended closure due to the general election scheduled for February 8. Reports indicate closures starting on February 4 for Kashmir Day, with educational institutions remaining shut during the election period from February 6 to 10.

Following a closure on February 11, the institutions are expected to reopen on February 12, though official confirmation is still pending. Stay tuned for updates on these developments.
