Snowfall and Rain predicted in Murree and Islamabad

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts a necessary change in the weather for Islamabad and Murree. Deputy Director Irfan Vark mentioned that rain is expected in Islamabad, providing relief from the extended dry winter period.

Likewise, the scenic hills of Murree are anticipated to witness snowfall within the next two days. This prediction instills hope in cities such as Islamabad, which have been facing prolonged dry weather.

At the same time, Lahore is currently going through an extremely dry winter, marked by increased cold and decreased smog.

As temperatures dip to a cool 6 degrees Celsius, issues like the closure of the motorway due to thick fog have been noted. Additionally, the dry and cold conditions are leading to residents experiencing colds and chest infections.

In Swat, the extended drought has resulted in a concerning drop in the water table. The lack of rain and snowfall has adversely affected the environment, impacting natural springs and drainage systems. Climate change has worsened the situation, causing severe drought conditions in Swat that are detrimental to agriculture.
