The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts that the ongoing cold wave and foggy weather will continue in Peshawar and the plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the next two days. According to the weather overview, most parts of Pakistan are currently experiencing continental air.

Due to these conditions, Peshawar and many areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa can expect cold and dry weather on Monday evening/night, as well as on Tuesday and Wednesday. The upper districts are anticipated to have freezing temperatures and partly cloudy skies during this period.

Fog update for Pakistan

Expect dense fog/smog in Islamabad, the plains of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh, causing day temperatures to stay below normal. In Islamabad, the minimum temperature is predicted to be between 02-04 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and 01-03 C on Wednesday.

Recently, a cold wave affected Islamabad and various parts of Pakistan, with Leh being the coldest place, experiencing a temperature drop of 12 degrees Celsius below freezing. In Islamabad, the minimum temperature reached 02 C, and the morning humidity was at 100%.

Dense fog/smog in Islamabad, the plains of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh led to lower temperatures during the day. This dense fog/smog resulted in the closure of motorways and caused disruptions in traffic on the National Highway and other roads within and between cities.
