PHC reserves its judgment in case related to papers of Murad Saeed 

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court(PHC) reserved its decision on the petition related to the nomination papers of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf(PTI) leader Murad Saeed.

A bench consisting of Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim, Justice Ijaz Anwar, and Justice Sahibzada Asadullah of Peshawar High Court heard the application related to the nomination of Murad Saeed.

During which the Advocate General argued that when someone is absconding, he loses some basic rights. They have no right to vote and contest elections.

On this, Justice Ijaz Anwar said that it would be used as a weapon to stop anyone from the election.

On the inquiry of the court, the Advocate General took the position that those whose papers have been approved have been allotted symbols,  the ballot papers are being printed, while the cases of the named accused in the May 9 incidents are going on in the military court.

During the hearing, Murad Saeed’s lawyer said that Murad Saeed has been missing from the screen since May 9, when he wrote a letter to the President and Chief Justice for security.

On this, Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim said that people have surrendered in Punjab, and women are also in jail, Murad Saeed’s lawyer on the judge’s remarks said that there was no objection against his client, the nomination papers were rejected because his client had absconded.

Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim raised the question that the tribunal rejected the papers of how many fugitive candidates, On the inquiry of the court, the lawyer of the Election Commission of Pakistan said that as far as he know Murad Saeed’s papers were rejected.

Later, after the arguments were completed, the court reserved its decision on Murad Saeed’s pleas.
