The first license for manufacturing electric rickshaws was presented to Sazgar Engineering Works Limited by the Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, in a ceremony held in Lahore.
This signifies the commencement of electric rickshaw manufacturing in the province. In the event, the caretaker CM revealed plans to distribute 26 thousand electric motorbikes and rickshaws to the public on a no-interest basis.
Mohsin Naqvi stated that 10,000 e-bikes are designated for students, 2,000 for working women, 2,000 e-three-wheelers for handicapped individuals, 10,000 e-rickshaws for the general public, and 2,000 e-bikes for government employees.
Moreover, Naqvi prohibited government-level acquisitions of petrol-powered motorcycles throughout the province, choosing electric bikes for future use.

.The caretaker CM praised the Bank of Punjab for backing the government’s initiative to offer interest-free electric bikes and rickshaws to the public. Additionally, the caretaker CM officially launched the Qingqi Rickshaw Registration Program throughout the province during the ceremony.
