Elder woman shares how Varun Dhawan surprised her ill daughter at hospital

Varun Dhawan has a strong connection to the Indian film industry, thanks to his father, filmmaker David Dhawan. Despite being surrounded by fame, Varun remains humble and is loved by many fans.

Recently, he gave his admirers another reason to admire him when a fan shared a touching story about how he visited her sick daughter.

In a viral video, Varun is seen leaving Mumbai airport when a woman calls out to him. She introduces herself and says, “I want to say this on camera. My daughter was unwell and Varun Dhawan, his father (David Dhawan) was there, and he came to see my daughter. He doesn’t know me. What a wonderful, kind soul.” After thanking Varun, he asked about her daughter’s health, took time to chat with a couple of elderly fans, and then continued on his way.

The video quickly went viral, and fans flooded the comments to praise Varun’s kindness. One user wrote, “That’s the reason we love him,” while another commented, “He’s such a sweetheart.” A third said, “A true gentleman—humble, kind, and grounded,” and someone else added, “Very sweet of him.”

While Varun is busy with several projects, he has also been confirmed to star in Border 2 alongside Sunny Deol. An insider shared, “Border 2 is the biggest film of Indian Cinema in the making… the casting of Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan in the sequel is sure to elevate the appeal even further.” Directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar and JP Dutta, the war film is set to begin shooting in November 2024.

Pakistani envoy to US urges world community to resolve Kashmir dispute

WASHINGTON: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Shkeih, Sunday urged the international community and human rights organizations to play their role in not only highlighting the plight of Kashmiri people in Indian Occupied Kashmir but also in facilitating a solution to the long-standing issue.

“The case is in our favour; It’s only a matter of the right timing in international politics and economics,” he said, citing UN Security Council resolutions that grant the right of self-determination to the Kashmiri people to decide their future through a UN-supervised plebiscite.

“History is on our side,” the Ambassador told a large gathering at the Pakistan Embassy held to commemorate Kashmir Black Day.

The Day is commemorated annually on October 27 to mark the day in 1947 when India, without any legal justification, forcibly took control of the State of Jammu and Kashmir.

“The historical record is an asset for us, and it needs to be referenced and upheld,” Ambassador Sheikh said.

“Our job is to keep the flame alive, not to yield under the weight of global politics or economics.”

As the issues of Kashmir and Palestine have a common genesis, Ambassador Sheikh said it was important that these cases should be taken together, as they will reinforce each other.”

“After the US election, there is a lot of expectation that the ongoing brutalities in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories will move toward a solution,” the Ambassador said. “We believe this will happen. This would again be an opportunity to raise greater awareness about the issue and the need to address it,” he added.

At the outset, messages from President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar were read on the occasion.

The Secretary-General of World Kashmir Awareness Forum, Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai; Director of All Neighbors International, Ilyas Masih; Pastor William Archer of the Humanitarian and Theologian at Potomac Valley Church; former ICNA President Zahid Bukhari; and Dr. Imtiaz Khan, Professor at George Washington University, also spoke on the occasion, highlighting the Kashmiris’ legitimate struggle for self-determination.

On Sunday, October 27, a Timothée Chalamet look-alike contest in Washington Square Park, Manhattan, took an unexpected turn when the actor himself showed up, delighting fans by taking photos with his doppelgangers.

The event, hosted by YouTube personality Anthony Po, attracted many attendees dressed as Chalamet’s characters from films like Dune and Wonka. The winner, 21-year-old Miles Mitchell from Staten Island, was crowned and awarded a quirky trophy.

The contest gained significant attention on social media, leading to a massive turnout. However, police quickly intervened, shutting down the event minutes after it started and issuing a $500 fine to the organizers for holding an “unpermitted costume contest.” One person received a summons for disorderly conduct.

Pakistan-SA Counter Terrorism Joint Exercise Iqbal-I concludes

RAWALPINDI: The two-week long Pakistan-South Africa Joint Exercise Iqbal-I in Counter Terrorism domain was conducted between the Armies of Pakistan and Republic of South Africa at Cherat that had concluded after the closing ceremony was held.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), two weeks long exercise commenced on 15 October 2024 where two Combat Teams from Special Services Group, Pakistan Army and Republic of South Africa Special Forces participated in the Exercise.

The Commandant Special Operation School, attended the closing ceremony as Chief Guest. Colonel SS Lechoenyo, Chief of Staff Republic of South Africa Special Forces also witnessed the Closing Ceremony.

The troop displayed highest standards of professional excellence during the conduct.

The Exercise was aimed at refining the drills, procedures and techniques involved in CT operations through joint training, besides harnessing the historic military to military relations among the friendly countries.

Kajol reveals her kids don’t get her sense of humor

During the episode, she shared that her children, Nysa and Yug, have a hard time understanding her sense of humor and often don’t connect with her Instagram posts.

Kajol stated, “I think I’ve accepted that my kids will never get my sense of humour. My daughter got fed up and told me, ‘I just don’t get it. I don’t understand what you’re putting up on Instagram.’ So, I said, ‘Okay, then I’ll put up whatever I want!’”

Archana Puran Singh and Kriti Sanon praised Kajol’s witty captions, highlighting that they enjoy her posts. Kajol often shares family moments on Instagram, including a touching Rakhi post featuring her kids, where she wrote, “May all the protectors today understand that this is what makes u a man… let’s teach our sons to be better.”

PTI decides to join Judicial Commission for judges’ appointment

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI) has officially decided to become a part of Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) for appointment of judges in the superior courts.

In a special meeting of PTI’s political committee, it has been agreed to nominate members from parliament for the commission.

It was said in the meeting that the decision of the political committee will be sent to the core committee for approval and to the PTI founder Imran Khan for final approval.

Two names to represent the opposition in the commission will be announced after the approval of the former prime minister and PTI founder.

It was briefed that the responsibilities of the 13-member Judicial Commission have been increased. The Judicial Commission will appoint judges in the Supreme Court, High Courts, and Federal Shariat Court. The Commission will monitor the performance of High Court Judges and prepare their annual performance report.

During the briefing, it was told that the Judicial Commission is also authorized to propose suitable names for the judges of the High Court. The same Judicial Commission will also establish benches in the High Court and the Supreme Court. One-third of the members of the Judicial Commission may convene a meeting of the Commission. The decisions of the 13-member commission will be made by a simple majority of the members.

In the briefing, it was said that according to Clause D, the absence of any member will not affect the credibility of the decision of the Commission and the decision of the Commission will be considered correct. The Judicial Commission of Pakistan will be a long-term commission. The role of the two members of the opposition in decision-making is of crucial importance.
