Thai transgender businesswoman buys Miss Universe for $20m

Anne Jakapong Jakrajutatip, a Thai business entrepreneur and transgender rights campaigner, has purchased the Miss Universe Organization for $20 million. On Wednesday, the 43-year-old CEO of Thailand-based media company JKN Global Group PCL disclosed the acquisition of WME-IMG, the talent agency based in the United States that previously aired the Miss Universe beauty contest.

Jakrajutatip, who has appeared on Thai versions of popular reality shows Shark Tank and Project Runway has been open about her transsexual experiences.

In a news release, she stated that JKN was “incredibly honoured” to take over the Miss Universe Organization and that they aimed to expand their brand in Asia by developing new lifestyle, cosmetic, and skincare goods, as well as drinks and dietary supplements.

“We seek not only to continue its legacy of providing a platform to passionate individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and traditions, but also to evolve the brand for the next generation,” Jakrajutatip added.

The CEO and President of the Miss Universe Organization said in a joint statement that they were “eager to continue the evolution” of the firm with JKN.

“Our progressive approach continues to position us at the forefront of our industry,” they stated.

Donal Trump co-owned the Miss Universe Organization from 1996 to 2015. According to the sources, the former US President sold the company when two network partners declined to show the contest due to his comments about “illegal” immigrants during his 2016 presidential campaign.

More criticism came his way when Miss Universe 1996 winner Alicia Machado claimed Trump branded her “Miss Piggy” when she gained weight after winning the competition.

Encourage inclusivity and dive

The purchase by Jakrajutatip comes as the Miss Universe competition, which was previously solely open to unmarried women, revealed plans to allow married and pregnant women to compete beginning in 2023.

Since its beginning in 1952, the beauty pageant has been staged every year and is aired in over 160 countries and territories.

According to IANS, Arif went to Banti Salon on Wednesday for a haircut and requested the ‘fire haircut’ from the barber. While the barber was cutting the victim’s hair, a buddy of the victim was videotaping it since the teenager was active on social media and wanted to post his fire haircut on his Instagram page. When the barber lit the matchstick after spraying chemicals, the entire head caught fire. The victim was hurt in the face, neck, and chest. The incident’s video footage quickly went popular on social media.

Assistant Sub Inspector Mayuriben of the Vapi Town police station told IANS that Valsad hospital informed the police station that Arif Shah, a Vapi resident, was sent to the government hospital for burn injuries.

According to Mayuriben, the investigation will begin only when the victim, the barber, and all those present in the saloon at the time of the accident have given their statements. Hunt saboteur injured by fast car while trying to interrupt hunting meet

The moment an animal rights activist was hit by a speeding vehicle during a fox hunting meet is captured in shocking images.

The tragic tragedy occurred while the Hertfordshire Hunt Saboteurs gang was attending the first meet of The Cottesmore Hunt.

On Tuesday, October 25, the hunt meeting was conducted in Leicestershire.

One of the campaigners was hit by a fast-moving automobile while watching the horses and hounds pass down Braunston Road.

The woman, who was facing away from the vehicle when she was hit, was knocked to the ground and taken to the hospital.

Leicestershire Police said that police were summoned to the location soon before midday and that an investigation has been commenced.

Officers recognised the driver of the car after initial enquiries by detectives, they added.

Detective Inspector Charles Edwards told, “Our investigation into this incident is in its early stages.

“I would ask anyone who was in the area and saw what happened – or who has footage of the incident or events leading up to and after it – to come forward.”

Despite the collision, Lee Moon, a representative for the Hunt Saboteurs Association (HSA), stated that the woman suffered just tissue damage.

He added, “This awful incident happened at the opening meet of the Cottesmore hunt.

”Hunt sabs were present to intervene and save any foxes if they chased by the hunt.

“Suddenly a car came at high speed and ploughed straight into one of the sabs.

“Amazingly the injured woman only has tissue damage as she could easily have been killed.

“The HSA demands that this attempted murder is investigated by Leicestershire Police and we assume that the BHSA will suspend the Cottesmore immediately.

“Even though sabs become desensitized to acts of violence this is a shocking escalation and it’s only a matter of time before someone is killed.”
