Have you ever noticed the special building seems completely unreal?

The Crooked House located in Sopot Poland is a building that seems completely unreal like an image from a children’s book

It was designed by the Polish architects Szotynscy and Zaleski and it measures 4,000 square meters. Naturally, the architects were inspired to design this odd building after studying the artwork of Per Dahlberg and the fairytale illustrations of Jan Marcin Szancer. Creating houses like this isn’t something you normally learn at an architecture school. You need to either be an artist or be inspired by one.

The surrealist details that add uniqueness to the Crooked House are the stone elevation decors, the colourful stained glass entrances, the windows framed with sandstone. Not only do these surprise the innocent passer-by, but also the blue-green enamelled shingles on the roof that have the role of creating the illusion of dragon skin. The house looks amazing enough during the day, but during the night when it is lighted its appearance is even more unique and intriguing.

Even though the construction was built quite recently it is one of the most famous buildings on the planet and it represents a very important local symbol. The Crooked House can be visited on Sopot’s popular Monciak Street. It was built in 2004 by the architect Szoty?scy & Zaleski and it was intended as a modern and fascinating project. Now, it is the home of the Rezydent shopping centre and due to its peculiar design it can compete without worries for the title “the world’s strangest building”.

Its original name is “Krzywy Domek” and it is one of the local’s favourite places for relaxation and shopping. On the inside, the odd building hosts a very large number of clubs, bars, shops, cafes. Unfortunately, the interior isn’t as fascinating as the outside. The stairs are slightly distorted, but there are no major surprising aesthetic details. It is just a regular looking shopping centre.

South Korea have developed a soft robot that changes colour like a chameleon

Scientists in South Korea have developed a soft robot that changes colour like a chameleon and becomes part of the background, making it difficult to see.

Let’s say that the real thing in this invention is not the robot itself, but its soft fur, which changes its colour in a certain way when electricity passes.

Changing colours to become part of the background to avoid predators and invaders is a special tactic of chameleons and other such animals, also known as “active camouflage”.

The same natural ability of the chameleon has been artificially created in the soft skin of the robot.

Experts hope that with the help of this technology, in the future, fabrics can be made that can quickly change their colour and design to suit the surrounding environment.

In this way, the wearer will also become a part of their background and it will be very difficult to see.

It is a difficult task to make an artificial skin that changes colour instantly like a chameleon because it requires a very complex system that requires constant monitoring of its surroundings as well as the ability to quickly change the colour of the skin as needed.

In the latest issue of the online research journal Nature Communications, Seung Hwan of Seoul National University and his colleagues describe in their article how they overcame this difficulty.

According to the article, they devised a new strategy using layers called “thermochromic liquid crystal layers”. This material is practically the same as used in LCD monitors today. However, it also has the added ability to change colour at changing temperatures.

These layers were connected by networks of very thin (nanometer-sized) wires of silver that were stacked on top of each other, that is, vertically.

By connecting them to colour sensors and feedback control systems, and artificial fur was developed that could change colour according to the environment around them. In the end, the fur was applied to the body of a soft robot, creating a “soft robot that changes colour like a chameleon.”

So far, the performance of this fur has been demonstrated in experiments, which have shown that this artificial fur changes its colour immediately according to the changing colour of its surroundings.

However, this is still the initial stage in which, after success, these experts will further refine the skin and make it usable in the practical field.

The biggest challenge in this regard is to increase the area of this artificial fur and maintain its performance. On the other hand, it is also important to improve the resolution in the samples made on the surface of the skin.

Babar Azam wants to re-establish Pakistan’s “Superiority” in T20

Babar Azam: ‘Can’t talk on Sarfaraz individually, Wasim has already explained’

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam said that the upcoming T20 World Cup will be an opportunity for his team to re-establish their “superiority” in Twenty20 format.

Babar Azam wants to re-establish the team’s “superiority” in the T20 format by winning the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup. Pakistan, the T20 World Cup champions in 2009, will open their game in the 2021 event against India at the Dubai International Stadium on 24th October.

In an ICC release, Babar said, “All the players are excited, motivated, and enthusiastic, and eyeing this tournament as an opportunity to showcase our prowess and re-establish our superiority in the shortest format of the game in conditions that suit us best,”

Pakistan will also face New Zealand and Afghanistan in Group 2 of the Super 12s stage, with two qualifiers from Round 1. At the same venue, Pakistan will play against New Zealand and Afghanistan on 27th October and 29th October respectively.

Speaking about Pakistan’s planning for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021, Babar said: “We will utilize the build-up period by playing in home series against New Zealand and England and will not only aim to fine-tune our final outlook but also try win as many matches as possible so that we can carry that winning form and momentum to the United Arab Emirates,”

He remains “focused” on inspiring his team with his performances in the T20 World Cup.

He added, “From a personal point of view, this will be my first ICC Major Event as Pakistan captain. As a player, I have tasted success in the 2017 Champions Trophy and suffered disappointment in 2019 when we missed out on a World Cup semi-final spot by a fraction of a point despite beating both the finalists in league matches,”

He concluded, “I remain focused on inspiring my side with my performances so that we can become the first Pakistan side to win an ICC Major Event in Asia,”

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 in UAE and Oman will begin from 17th October, and the final will be played in Dubai on 14th November.

Twitter management decides to change the design after users complained of headaches

The microblogging site Twitter is redesigning its recently launched design following headaches.

Last week, Twitter unveiled a new design with high contrast colours and a custom design font, Chirp. Unveiling the design, the Twitter administration said that at first glance, it may feel strange, but it will improve the use of content as well as make it look clearer. But the design did not receive the expected response from users, and users complained of headaches, calling it annoying, difficult to read and light painful.

Consumers say that it is too small and dense and you have to widen your eyes to read, which causes headaches. Another user said that he suffers from low vision and eye problems. An individual can’t read in this design.

A few days after the users’ complaints surfaced, the Twitter administration said in a tweet: Are changing so as not to put too much pressure on the eyes.

The day after the tweet, Traitor said, “The cause of the eye discomfort is not the design but the newly introduced font Chirp, and we are working to resolve the issue.”

Gautam Gambhir: important for India to play with Pakistan in early stages

Former India opener, Gautam Gambhir believed that playing against Pakistan in an early stage of the T20 World Cup will help the Indian team to focus on the remaining tournament.

The international body said on Tuesday, that India and Pakistan will play together in the ICC T20 World Cup on 24th October in a group-stage encounter.

Gautam said that it will help the Indian team as they can then focus on the remaining matches of the tournament. Speaking on a television show, Gautam emphasized the importance of India clashing with Pakistan in the initial stages of the game.

He said, “In 2007 as well, when we went on to win the World Cup, our first game was against Scotland, which was washed out, but then practically, our first game was against Pakistan.
