Nigerian caught by Indian police for $14,500 crypto fraud

In Delhi, a Nigerian, Michael Ohenhen living illegally in India and has been arrested for doing a cryptocurrency fraud to an Indian of $14,500 which approximately equals Rs 60 lakhs.

The Indian lives in Dehradun in the state of Uttarakhand.

The fraud was allegedly carried out by Ohenhen on the premise of investing the money in cryptocurrency costs Rs 2 crores.

ANI, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) STF Ajay Singh, stated the Nigerian illegally took Rs 60 lakhs from the complainant.

Ohenhen was arrested by Uttarakhand STF and cyber police in a case of cyber fraud.

The police recovered eight cellphones, two laptops, and other gadgets from him.

Ohenhen was also involved in other cyber fraud in Devprayag in Uttarakhand.

Many cases of cyber fraud by Nigerians are reportedly alarming Indian police. In a crime of drug trafficking in Mumbai, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) caught another Nigerian.
