Bollywood’s megastar Salman Khan has received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The Bajrangi Bhaijaan took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and shared the news with his fans and followers.

He wrote,

“Took my first dose of vaccine today….”

Earlier, Salman Khan and his family members were tested negative for coronavirus, a source close to the family declared.

Khan and his family members were in isolation after their driver and two household staff members tested positive for the virus. The staff members have been taken to a hospital.

However, the source announced, “The family was in isolation since last week after the staff members and driver had tested positive for COVID-19. Tests were conducted on all family members, and the results have come today. They all have tested negative.”

Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan Babar Awan has said that Maryam Nawaz is a “convicted” corrupt leader and herself says “come arrest me”.

Speaking to BOL News’ program Tajzia with host Sami Ibrahim, Babar Awan has termed the decision by Islamabad High Court (IHC) about the Chairman Senate much right.

The IHC has on Monday dismissed a reserved judgment on whether the PPP’s petition against the election of the Senate chairman was admissible or not.

Awan further said that the ongoing matters in the parliament “can’t be challenged in court”.

Lambasting further at PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz, he said that no one has the right to interfere in the legal procedure by the anti-corruption watchdog.

“Being forceful to NAB by any means and harassing the institution is totally intolerable,” Babar Awan added. He further said that the penalty for putting pressure on NAB is 10 years.

Saudi Arabia: Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccine For Male, Female Workers

Saudi Arabia has made it mandatory for all male and female workers in restaurants, cafes, barbershops, and beauty salons.

According to the details, the decision will take effect on Shawwal 1 of this year.

In case of non-compliance with the vaccination instructions, the concerned authorities will have to submit a ‘PCR’ report of coronavirus being negative after every 7 days.

Moreover, the test costs should be paid by the relevant authorities or shop owner.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia’s health ministry had announced that pilgrims who want to perform Hajj this year must receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

According to the details, Saudi Health Minister Tawfiq Al Rabiah has said that participation in the Hajj season will ensure that pilgrims must be vaccinated, as part of the main condition for the pilgrimage. 

“The COVID-19 vaccine is mandatory for those willing to come to the Hajj and will be one of the main conditions (for receiving a permit to come),” a circular signed by the health minister read.

Tariq Banuri To Be Removed As HEC Chairman Under New Ordinance

The government has decided to replace Tariq Banuri as Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chairman under the new laws.

According to sources, HEC Chairman will be replaced under the new ordinance which states that the ownership of the HEC chairman will be from two to four years.

Back in 2018, Dr Tariq Banuri was appointed by former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi till May 2022.

According to reports, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had begun to take action against the HEC Chairman after he was accused of misusing his powers.

NAB had accused the HEC Chairman of illegal appointments and corruption.

Earlier, the Higher Education Commission had asked all Vice-Chancellors and Rectors across the country to strictly ensure the verification of their educational documents to prevent Pakistanis going to work in the UAE from getting into any trouble.

HEC Assistant Director (Coordination) Sadaf Tahir in a letter to the heads of universities said that the UAE Federal National Council has passed a new draft law which outlines severe penalties for obtaining employment in public Germany and private companies or for any other purpose through using forged/fake degrees and education certificates.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance has passed away on Wednesday (today).

A 90-year-old Emirati poet details how he had the opportunity of attending Sheikh Hamdan’s wedding in 1989.

The renowned poet stated, “I have known him to be a humble man. He was a generous human being who loved to contribute to the welfare of the UAE, its citizens and expatriates. I have received the news of his death with great sorrow and sadness. He was a brother and friend to me.”

Poet Al Ain also has several snaps with Sheikh Hamdan framed on the wall of his home.

Sharing a photo with the late Sheikh, he detailed, “In this picture, I was reciting a poem for the late Sheikh Hamdan on the occasion of his wedding,” said the poet.

On the other hand, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced the news and posted a photo of his brother on Twitter.

He wrote, “We belong to God and Him we shall return…May God have mercy on you, my brother, my support and my companion.”

The UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has declared a three-day mourning period over the death of Sheikh Hamdan.

Sheikh Khalifa has also ordered the flag to be raised next Saturday, March 27.

He also expressed condolences and sympathies to the Al Maktoum family.

Sheikh Hamdan, 75, took the position of ‎Minister of Finance since the first formation of the Cabinet in December 1971. He chaired government entities including Dubai ‎Municipality, Al Maktoum

Foundation, Dubai Aluminum (DUBAL) and Dubai Natural Gas ‎Company Limited, Dubai World Trade Centre, among others.‎

Tesla’s Chief Executive (CEO) Elon Musk has good news for those who are willing to buy the electric car.

Taking to Twitter, Elon Musk reveals that a person can now buy a Tesla using Bitcoin, the world’s largest cryptocurrency.

“You can now buy a Tesla with Bitcoin,” he tweeted.

The other tweet read, “Tesla is using only internal & open source software & operates Bitcoin nodes directly. Bitcoin paid to Tesla will be retained as Bitcoin, not converted to fiat currency.”

Earlier, Elon Musk, who had led Bitcoin’s price to soar by $1.5 billion, has witnessed a major loss after the shares of the automaker fall suddenly.

It was reported that Musk had lost a whopping amount of $27 billion, resulting in a historic loss after Tesla’s shares collapsed. However, his $156.9 billion net worth still ranks Musk at number 2 among the Billionaires.

According to reports, Jeff Bezos, the Chief Executive (CEO) of Amazon, has defeated Elon Musk as he topped as the world’s richest man.

Musk had previously ranked among the world’s 500 richest people and also left Bezos to fall with a remarkable gain of $210 billion in January 2020.

Investment In Bitcoin

Earlier, the cryptocurrency Bitcoin had broken a new record as its value has crossed  $50,000. It hit a new high, surpassing $58,000. It continues to grow this year.

Since the beginning of January, Bitcoin’s value has increased by more than 90% and its total market value has reached one trillion dollars.

The reason for the recent rise in price is the acceptance of payments in this currency by Tesla and other major companies.

However, bitcoin had seen sharp fluctuations in prices since its introduction in 2009.

Bitcoin started the year with about  28,900. Then in January alone, its value exceeded 40,000 US dollars. But then at the end of January, it started to decline and at the end of the month, its price dropped to 30 thousand US dollars.

It picked up again and on February 16 it crossed the 50,000 marks and had continued to grow at a record high of $58,000.

Tesla’s Elon Musk revealed that his electric car maker had bought $1.5 billion worth of bitcoins and would use the currency as a payment to buy cars.
