US President Joe Biden addressed the dire situation in Gaza during the UN General Assembly. In his final speech, he described the conditions for innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip as akin to hell and called for a truce between Israel and Hamas.

He warned against the potential for a full-scale war in Lebanon, emphasizing that such an escalation would harm all involved parties.

Biden urged diplomatic initiatives to mitigate rising tensions between Israel and Hezbollah and called on both sides to finalize a cease-fire and a hostage agreement, which has received support from the UN Security Council.

He highlighted that securing a cease-fire is a top priority for the White House, especially since nearly 100 hostages are believed to be held by Hamas. Additionally, he reaffirmed the US commitment to Ukraine in its conflict with Russia.

His speech underscored the growing number of global crises that require immediate attention.

The US stance on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict diverges from that of the majority in the General Assembly, which recently passed a resolution urging Israel to end its occupation of Palestinian territories—an action opposed by the US.

Recent Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip resulted in the deaths of 40 more Palestinians, bringing the total death toll to 41,431, with 95,818 injured. Despite a UN cease-fire resolution, Israel's offensive continues, displacing nearly the entire population and leading to severe resource shortages.
