LAHORE: Punjab’s Health and Population Department issued a safety alert over six batches of B-Mann tablets, a medicine commonly used for nerve weakness and nerve pain, after declaring them unsafe for consumption and ordering their immediate removal from markets.
The batches listed in the alert include numbers 087, 104, 107, 108, 111 and 117. Officials directed relevant authorities and drug inspectors to take immediate action and ensure that the identified batches are removed from pharmacies and medical stores across Punjab.
The department said strict legal action would be taken against pharmacies or sellers found keeping or selling the affected medicine under the Drug Act.
Authorities advised healthcare providers, pharmacies and distributors to cooperate with officials during the removal process and prevent the sale of the identified batches.
Drug safety alerts are issued by health authorities to protect consumers and ensure that medicines available in markets meet required quality standards. Officials continue to monitor pharmaceutical products and take action when any medicine fails to meet safety requirements.
The department’s latest action is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen medicine monitoring, improve public safety and ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations across the province.
