ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has fixed for hearing a petition against former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan on May 21. The petition accuses Khan of concealing his alleged daughter, Tyrian White. The case had been inactive since May 2023, after IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq dissolved a three-member bench due to differing opinions on the plea's maintainability. The bench, which included Chief Justice Farooq, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, and Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir, had reserved its verdict on March 30. Justices Kayani and Tahir had ruled against the petition's maintainability. Chief Justice Farooq has now formed a new bench comprising Justices Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, Arbab Mohammad Tahir, and Saman Rafat Imtiaz to hear the case on May 21. The petition, filed last year by Islamabad citizen Muhammad Sajid, seeks Khan’s disqualification. Sajid's plea alleges that Khan has denied the existence of his 'daughter' Tyrian White. The petition argues that Khan, aware of the evidence against him, should be disqualified from holding public office or party leadership under Article 62(1)(f).
