Police officials responsible for mistreating journalists in Karachi have been identified.
DIG South, Asad Raza, confirmed that disciplinary actions are being taken against the officers involved in the violent incident, which has caused significant outrage among the media community.
Condemning the mistreatment, DIG Raza stated that such behavior towards journalists, particularly after they have identified themselves, is unacceptable. He emphasized that strict measures will be enforced against those involved.
Raza also stressed the strong relationship between the police and journalists, describing their bond as "Choli Daman" (inseparable). He reassured that this kind of conduct will not be tolerated at any level and reiterated the police's commitment to accountability and respectful treatment of the media.
Earlier, some journalists faced violent behavior from law enforcement officers as they dispersed protesters outside the Karachi Press Club (KPC).
