ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday met with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman wherein he proposed the formation of a committee to collaboratively address the prevailing political issues.
The prime minister suggested this while visiting Maulana Fazl ur Rehman’s residence to inquire after his well-being.
Maulana Fazl welcomed the prime minister, who appreciated the JUI-F chief’s religious services and his continuous support to peaceful struggle for protection of democratic values.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded Finland’s support to Pakistan in winning a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for 2025-26.
In response to Finnish President Alexander Stubb’s remarks on X, the prime minister appreciated their support to Pakistan and reiterated his country’s resolve to work for upholding international law and the UN Charter.
President Stubb had congratulated Pakistan, Denmark, Greece, Panama, and Somalia on winning the UN Security Council’s non-permanent membership.
