In a conversation on the Something Bigger Talk Show podcast with Rodrigo Canelas, Priyanka Chopra's mother, Madhu, shared her feelings about sending her daughter to boarding school at the age of seven.
Reflecting on the tough choice, she admitted, “I don’t know, was I a mean mother? I still regret it. I still cry over it. It was very hard for me, too.”
Madhu recalled how she made the effort to visit Priyanka every Saturday, taking a train to see her, but the visits began to disrupt her daughter's adjustment to school.
“Saturday, she would wait for me to arrive, and then on Sunday, I would stay with her. And all week, the teacher told me, ‘Stop coming. You can’t come’,” she said.
Despite her regret, Madhu also expressed pride in how Priyanka turned out, adding, “So that is one regretful decision, but Priyanka turned out alright. She landed on her feet.”
Priyanka, who shares a close bond with her mother, is now a global star, balancing her Hollywood career and personal life with husband Nick Jonas. Priyanka’s upcoming projects include Heads of State, The Bluff, and the second season of Citadel.
