Pakistani drama and film actor Kubra Khan, fresh off the big screen with her new Eidul Azha release, "Abhi," recently sat down in an interview to discuss her latest projects, thoughts on Palestine, and more. Kubra explained her two-year absence from films, citing a packed schedule. “After 'London Nahi Jaunga' in 2022, I started 'Jannat Se Aagay,' then 'Noor Jahan,' and simultaneously filmed 'Abhi.' In ten years, I’ve done six films, which is a lot compared to others,” she said. Kubra’s filmography includes "Na Maloom Afraad," "Parwaaz Hai Junoon," "Jawaani Phir Nahi Ani," and now "Abhi." Kubra shared how she chooses her projects. “I’m very selective with my characters and scripts. If it doesn’t touch my heart, I don’t do it. 'Abhi' appealed to me because it addresses minorities and the powerless, an important and often overlooked topic,” she said. Kubra emphasized the film's message about valuing every individual, regardless of their power or status. Speaking about her character Zara in "Abhi," Kubra noted similarities with herself, though Zara is more extroverted. She praised her co-star and musician Goher Mumtaz, highlighting his significant contributions to the music industry. On music in films, Kubra revealed she would avoid item numbers unless contextually relevant, referencing her dance in "Superstar." Kubra addressed misconceptions about the Pakistani film industry, citing upcoming releases like "Na Baligh Afraad" and "Umro Ayyar." She also explained her reluctance to give interviews post-"Jannat Se Aagay," due to becoming more introverted and fearing misinterpretation of her words. Expressing sorrow for the ongoing genocide in Palestine, Kubra stressed the importance of awareness. “An entire nation is being wiped out, and some people still don’t know what's happening. If we can’t speak about it, what’s our use as human beings?” she concluded. [embedpost slug="why-kubra-khan-avoids-giving-interview-actress-reveals/"]
