Expected new petrol prices in Pakistan - July 1, 2024

Petrol prices in Pakistan are expected to see a substantial increase next month, in July 2024, marking the start of the new fiscal year 2024-25. According to reports, the federal government plans to raise the petrol price by Rs7.54 per litre and the high-speed diesel (HSD) price by Rs9.84 per litre for the first 15 days of July. Additionally, if the government adds a Rs5 per litre petroleum levy starting July 1, petrol prices could increase by Rs12.54 per litre, and diesel prices could go up by Rs14.84 per litre. The government has decided to raise the maximum petroleum levy to Rs 80 from the previous Rs 60, implementing the increase in different phases.

Current Petrol Prices in Pakistan

Earlier this month, the government reduced petrol and HSD prices by Rs10.20 and Rs2.33 per litre, respectively. After this revision, the current petrol price stands at Rs258.16 per litre, while the HSD price is Rs267.89 per litre.

Latest Petrol Price in Pakistan from July 1

If the petroleum levy is not increased by Rs 5 per litre, the new petrol price in Pakistan from July 1 will be Rs 265.7 per litre, and the diesel price will be Rs 277.73 per litre. However, if the petroleum levy is increased, the new petrol price will be Rs 270.7 per litre, and the diesel price will rise to Rs 282.73 per litre.
