Kelsey Parker, Tom Parker’s widow, was driven to tears at the National Television Awards on Thursday night.

The 30-year-old couldn’t fight back her tears when a clip from Tom’s documentary Inside My Head, which was nominated for Best Authored Documentary.

Kelsey’s husband, Tom, who rose to popularity with the band The Wanted, died on March 30 at the age of 33 from stage four glioblastoma brain cancer after being diagnosed in October 2020.

Inside My brain just lost out on the award as Kate Garraway’s Caring for Derek took first place in that category.

Kelsey was spotted becoming tearful when Inside My Head video aired on the large screen.

The video shows Tom performing on stage only weeks before his death, as the NTAs got a sneak peek of the concert during the nominations segment.

Kelsey went to her Instagram Story earlier in the day, before travelling to the NTAs, to inform followers she was feeling ‘so emotional.’

She told, ‘I don’t know why I did it this morning, but I sat there and looked through all of Tom’s reels.

‘I don’t know why I just did that to myself and literally, I am an emotional wreck this morning and I just can’t stop crying.

‘Elvis:’ Tom Hanks discusses his role as’mercurial’ manager Tom Parker

Tom Hanks, a veteran Hollywood actor, recently opened out about portraying Colonel Tom Parker in the forthcoming biopic Elvis.

During the Elvis discussion at the Cannes Film Festival on Thursday, the Oscar winner, 65, explained why he chose to play an unlikeable character like Parker.

The Cast Away star also addressed how filmmaker Baz Luhrmann persuaded him to portray the guy who found and began Elvis Presley’s career.

“I’m not interested in playing a bad guy just for the sake of, ‘Before I kill you Mr. Bond, perhaps you’d like a tour of my installations.’ That’s okay, I get it, but that’s for other stuff,” said the Forrest Gump actor.

“What Luhrmann tantalized me with was, here was a guy who saw an opportunity to manifest a once-in-a-lifetime talent into a cultural force,” he added.

The star described Parker as a “mercurial and brilliant man who at the same time made sure he lined his own pockets.”

Parker and Presley got together in 1955. The pair worked together up until the singer’s death in 1977. Parker died in 1997 at the age of 87.

The highly-anticipated biopic Elvis will hit the theaters on June 24.
