Thomas Markle, the estranged father of Meghan Markle, opened up about his daughter and her past relationships, revealing details about her first marriage and their strained relationship.
The Duchess of Sussex recently returned to social media, making headlines with an announcement about her Netflix show, With Love, Meghan. Meghan had previously accused her father of betraying her trust by speaking to the media while she was dating Prince Harry, a rift that remains unresolved.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Meghan Markle’s father shared rare insights into Meghan’s life before Harry, specifically her marriage to Hollywood producer Trevor Engelson, which lasted from 2011 to 2014. “I really liked Trevor,” Thomas said, while showing videos from her first wedding. “I don’t think he ever understood why she dumped him, either.”
Thomas also revealed plans to leave the U.S. permanently, expressing a desire to settle in Southeast Asia to find “kinder people” following his recent health challenges.
