Youngest Pakistani climber Shehroze Kashif sets two new world records

A 19-year-old Pakistani mountaineer Shehroze Kashif has set two new Guinness World Records for being the world’s youngest mountaineer to climb the world’s two highest peaks, Everest (8,849m) and K2 (8,611m) in the same year within three months, according to a press statement issued by the Alpine Club of Pakistan (ACP) on Wednesday.

Shehroze on his Instgaram while posing with the certificates wrote, “This is something super special and being a Pakistani, I feel very proud to share this news with you all. Alhamdulillah …. I have finally received my both @guinnessworldrecords Certificates with the support and prayers of my parents. This is for you Pakistan.”

The Pakistan Alpine Club praised the young climber for his outstanding performance in hoisting the flag of Pakistan high in the world.

It should be noted that Shehroze also holds the record for being the youngest person to have climbed K2.

Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu has felicitated Shehroze Kashif, who becomes the youngest mountaineer to summit K2, the world’s second-highest peak.

According to a statement by DGPR (Air Force), “Well done Shehroze Kashif !!! To become the youngest mountaineer to reach the summit of K2.”

Prime Minister Imran Khan also congratulated Kashif on his remarkable achievement.

According to Shehroze’s father Kashif Suliman, Shehroze climbed K2 at 8:10 this morning. Shehroze Kashif, 19, is the youngest climber to climb K2.

His father said that Shehroze Kashif has set a world record at 8,611 meters, with K2 being the second highest peak in the world.

Shehroze Kashif is the first Pakistani mountaineer to climb the world’s highest peak Mount Everest and the fourth-youngest climber in the world. ‘The Broad Boy’ climbed Mount Everest on May 11 two months ago.

Lahore-based Shehroze Kashif is also the youngest Pakistani climber to set a recording of climbing Pakistan’s fourth highest peak at 17 years old.

On the other hand, Several of Pakistan’s youngest climbers have been on K2 in recent days.

Sajid Ali Sadpara, who in 2019 became the youngest to climb K2 at the age of 20, is part of an excursion to the mountain to find the body of his father, Ali Sadpara, who went missing along with two other climbers in February this year.
