The first day of Ramadan 2021 will fall on April 14 (Wednesday) and the Muslims will observe the first Taraweeh prayers tonight.

Pakistani celebrities including Saba Qamar, Ayeza Khan, Danish Taimoor, and others have extended heartfelt wishes of Ramadan to the Muslims across the world.

However, several politicians and sports stars felicitate the Muslim brethren on this auspicious occasion.

Cricketers Imad Wasim, Azhar Ali, Hassan Ali and others extend heartfelt Ramadan greetings via their social media handle.

Former Pakistan team’s captain Shahid Afridi shared an adorable video message to wish his fans and other Muslims a blessed month ahead.

“I wish everyone blessings, happiness and fulfillment in this Holy month. May Allah accept our prayers and shower the blessings of this holy month upon us. Ameen,” he wrote.

On the other hand, yesterday, the crescent for the month of Ramadan had been sighted in Saudi Arabia, the Supreme Court has announced on Monday. 

In a statement issued by the Saudi Supreme Court, Tuesday (April 13) marks the first day of Ramadan.

What Is Ramadan?

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar which is observed by the entire Muslim community from around the world.

The Muslims engage in good deeds and ask for forgiveness and refrain from eating and drinking from dawn until sunset.

Moreover, this annual practice is considered one of the five pillars of Islam. It is said that Ramadan is the commemoration of Prophet Muhammad’s first revelation.

Importance Of Ramadan:

The Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) said,

“When the month of Ramadan starts, the gates of the heaven are opened and the gates of Hell are closed and the devils are chained” (Bukhari)

In another Hadith, the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) said,

“Whoever fasts during Ramadan out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah’s rewards, and then all his past sins will be forgiven.” (Bukhari).
