Last week saw the release of the teaser for the upcoming thriller Gaslight, starring Sara Ali Khan, Chitrangada Singh, and Vikrant Massey. The director has since disclosed that the thriller was shot in just 36 days. The movie, which was filmed in Gujarat’s Wankaner Palace, is scheduled to be released digitally on March 31.

“I shot Gaslight in 36 days, so it’s safe to say I can shoot a film within regulated budgets and tight deadlines,” director Pavan Kirpalani stated in a statement to the press. It is simpler to shoot with constrained locations and careful planning.

The filmmaker continued by recalling his interactions with Sara, Vikrant, and Chitrangada: “With Sara Ali Khan, Vikrant Massey, and Chitrangda Singh, I worked on workshops for the movie for a month, and they did an excellent job. They helped create the atmosphere of mystery that was necessary for our photos and made everything seem so simple.”

Before Gaslight, Pavan collaborated on the horror-comedy Bhoot Police starring Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Yami Gautam. Ragini MMS, a 2011 horror movie, served as his maiden production as a filmmaker. Moreover, he was the director of the 2016 psychological thriller Phobia starring Radhika Apte.

Gaslight, a Ramesh Taurani-produced OTT program, will debut on Disney Hotstar on March 31. Rahul Dev and Akshay Oberoi are also in the movie.

Sara had mentioned during the trailer unveiling when asked about her experience filming the thriller that the part was both mentally and physically demanding. She has a complex, nuanced personality. Each moment in this movie should keep viewers on the edge of their seats, so I hope it will be an exciting ride for them. As “a classic whodunit- set in an ominous yet magnificent palatial estate,” she also described Gaslight.

Actress Chitrangda Singh added that she was allowed to explore her own acting identity through the character of Rukmini in the movie.
