PDM Bahawalpur: “PDM leaders will end the problems faced by public”, says Gilani

PDM Bahawalpur Yousuf Raza Gillani

Former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, who was representing the PPP at the rally, while addressing the PDM Bahawalpur rally said the charter signed by PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, Maryam, Rehman and other PDM leaders, once implemented will end the problems faced by the public.

Gilani said the solution of issues faced by the residents of Bahawalpur and other south Punjab cities lied in them being given their own province and legislature.

He said the federal government had suggested that the secretariat of a future south Punjab province would either be in Multan or Bahawalpur but stressed that “We have asked for the province, not the secretariat.”

He said Prime Minister Imran undermined the PDM but even then its voice was censored and suppressed. “Why do you censor us? Because you are scared? We will fight you on the ground and in the assembly; the end of oppression is near,” he added.

Rigging Done For The Illegitimate Government: Maulana Fazl

Maulana Fazl thanked the masses who participated in the grand rally.

He further added that the PDM leadership will hold demonstrations in solidarity with Kashmiris across the country for their basic rights.

“In the coming days, I see anarchy in the country. We should handle matters before heading towards anarchy,” he said.

Back-lashing the incumbent government, the PDM Chief stated that Imran Khan with other crisis, was also not able to protest the Occupied Kashmir.

“Illegal government is in power in Pakistan, rigging had been done for the illegitimate government while we [PDM leaders] are here to save the future of Pakistan,” added the JUI-F Chief.

Fazlur Rehman also said that today India has consumed Kashmir and we have nothing in our hands to do for the innocent Kashmiris.

PDM Bahawalpur: “The days for PTI government are over,” Maryam Nawaz

PDM Bahawalpur Maryam

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz has on Sunday said that Bahawalpur at today’s PDM rally has decided that the days of the incumbent government are almost over and they should pack bags to go home.

Addressing the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) powershow in Bahawalpur, Maryam Nawaz once again lashed out at PTI government and asked do we call expensive electricity and essential commodities a change?

She further added that the PML-N party workers are continuously raising voice for the youth who was martyred in Islamabad by the police.

Maryam further targeted Prime Minister Imran Khan and condemned the terrible act in Balochistan, where eleven coal miners were shot dead.

She pointed out at the premier saying that he has doubled the country’s debt without laying a single brick for the betterment of the country.

Counting all the woes of the people due to the inflation, she said the International Monetary Fund, to make matters worse, has now “directed for the electricity prices to go up by 25%”.

“I feel your pain. Will the people of Bahawalpur make ends meet to feed their families, to pay their children’s fees, to pay utilities or pay for the treatment of the elderly at home?”

“This is why I want us to send this fake, incompetent prime minister packing who, after two-and-a-half years has thrown his hands in the air to declare he does not know how to run the country’s affairs,” Maryam said.

Maryam said that “what to speak of chicken, no one will soon be able to afford vegetables even”.

“Your daughter Maryam Nawaz Sharif feels your pain and this is what brought us to you all today,” she added.

The PML-N vice president said that Punjab would be “taunted” for “not standing up for others” and other provinces would say that “unless Punjab stands up, things will not change”.

“Well listen here! Not only has Punjab risen, it is ready to take back the rights it has been robbed off. And when Punjab stands up, whose legs start shaking?” she asked the crowd.

“The selectors and the selected can see that the people of Punjab have now stood up.”

Maryam asked whether the “storm of inflation” must be considered the “change” that was promised.

Earlier, a venue was set up at the lawn of MPA Malik Zaheer’s residence, where the PML-N gathered first.

Addressing party supporters there atop a container, Maryam asked them to follow her to Seraiki Chowk in the form of a procession.

“Come with your daughter, your sister Maryam, to Seraiki Chowk, so Bahawalpur may also announce the end of this fake government,” she said.
