After the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 6) postponed on Thursday, a heated argument took place between the PSL franchise owners and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) during a virtual meeting.
PSL 6 has been postponed for an indefinite time period after 6 players tested positive for coronavirus.
The PSL franchise owners asked PCB how the novel coronavirus entered the bio-secure bubble?
According to sources, two teams before the beginning of the tournament were shifted to a hotel, and after some time, they were again transferred to another hotel.
During the meeting, the PSL franchise owners expressed anger at PCB for not protecting the bio-secure bubble and allowing other events to take place at the hotel. The PCB, however, accepted its shortcomings at this.
PSL franchise owners spend millions of rupees to buy different national and international players for the tournament. On the other hand, the owners spend money like water for the promotion of their teams. They release the franchise’s official anthems every year, hire different celebrities as brand ambassadors, spend money on the cricket kit, and many more.
The postponing of PSL 6 has financially damaged the PSL franchise owners, which gave them the right to be angry at PCB.
Two players who tested positive for the virus are from Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars.
