New Year Eve: KP Police deploy 3,000 personnel for security purpose

As the New Year 2021 is around the corner, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) government has prepared a security plan for the New Year’s Eve, announcing the deployment of 3,000 personnel to ward off any untoward incidents.

According to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police, the beefed-up security plan comprises the deployment of personnel from the authorities’ City Patrol, Rapid Response Force (RRF), Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) Units, Elite Commandos, and City Patrol Riders.

The KP Police also stepped up mobile patrols on New Year’s Eve, while special roadblocks have been set up at the entry and exit points of Peshawar.

Moreover, additional police personnel, including female officers, have been deployed in bazaars and highways.

Karachi: Special Arrangements Devised Amidst COVID-19

Commissioner Karachi Navid Ahmed Shaikh has mulled over special arrangements in the city including a traffic plan for sea view amid COVID-19 pandemic.

According to details, Navid Ahmed Shaikh chaired a meeting to devise arrangements for New Year Eve in Karachi, keeping in view the COVID-19 SOPs.

It was decided to make proper security arrangements at amusement places, sea view and major thoroughfares in the city. A strict ban will remain in place against one-wheeling, aerial firing and show of arms.

“Section 144 will remain imposed against aerial firing,” he said.

Seaview Beach Will Remain Open

Commissioner Navid Ahmed Shaikh directed the police to keep Seaview beach and its surroundings open for the public with better traffic and security arrangements on New Year’s Eve.

Conducting a meeting held to review security and traffic arrangements for New Year’s Eve, he also asked the city and police administration to ensure the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) notified by the government to contain the coronavirus.

Official sources said that it was decided in the meeting that all arrangements would follow the Covid-19 SOPs as per directives of the home department.

As the New Year 2021 is round the corner for some countries around the world, Prime Minister PM Imran Khan has also posted an inspirational message for Pakistani youth on Instagram.

Imran Khan shared his insight for the young minds around the world to foster encouragement and ingenuity for the New Year 2021.

“Life goes in cycles, never in a straight line. Where one ends up depends upon how one copes with the high and low points,” the PM said in a short video posted on Instagram.

He added those who are successful never get demoralized by bad times and instead, analyze and learn from their mistakes and emerge stronger.
