Pakistan’s singing sensation Ali Zafar has shared his two cents over the recent Parliament chaos after it banned seven members of the Assembly from entering the Parliament House premises.

Taking to Twitter, Ali Zafar wrote, “The parliament is representative of the people.”

The Speaker of the National Assembly took action on the commotion in the National Assembly yesterday and banned seven members of the Assembly from entering the Parliament House premises.

According to the details, the Speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser had taken notice of the state of emergency in the House yesterday and announced a full investigation.

The Speaker of the National Assembly convened a meeting in this regard today in which the footage of the previous day was seen and the issue of commotion in the House was reviewed.

The Speaker of the National Assembly banned members of the House from entering the Parliament House premises using obscene language.

According to a statement issued by the National Assembly, the banned members include three members of PTI, three members of PML-N and one member of PPP.

The speaker has banned PPP’s Agha Rafiullah, PML-N’s Sheikh Rohail Asghar, Ali Gohar Khan and Chaudhry Hamid Hameed while PTI’s Ali Nawaz Awan, Abdul Majeed Khan and Fahim Khan have been banned.

The National Assembly (NA) Speaker Asad Qaiser has highlighted the major issue of Islamophobia which has hurt sentiments of Muslims across the globe.

Taking to his Twitter, Qaiser wrote, “I have addressed letters to world Parliaments to raise a voice against #Islamophobia which has hurt sentiments of Muslims across the globe. A joint strategy to counter growing trend of Islamophobia is need of the hour to promote inter-faith harmony for lasting peace in the world.”

Earlier, in an unfavourable turn of events, a heated exchange took place amidst the session between PML-N’s Khaqan Abbasi and Asad Qaiser.

Abbasi had approached the Speaker’s stage to have a word with him when all of a sudden he was heard saying: “Have you no shame?”

“Hold your tongue,” said the Speaker in response. To which Abbasi replied: “You always speak such things and adopt such a behaviour.”

However, as things intensified, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi added: “I will take off my shoe and hit you.”

“I too will do such a thing then. Please stay within your limits,” Speaker Asad Qaiser said to Abbasi.

The Speaker told the former premier to just proceed and speak about what he had set out to address.

After the incident took place, several politicians jumped in to discuss the fiery matter. SAPM Shahbaz Gill took to Twitter and lambasted Abbasi over being ill-mannered.

National Assembly Passes Domestic Violence (Prevention and Protection) Bill 2020

National Assembly Extends NAB Ordinance For Another 120 Days

The National Assembly (NA) has on Monday passed two important bills with NA Speaker Asad Qasier in the chair.

NA passed the Islamabad Capital Territory Senior Citizens Bill, 2020, and the Domestic Violence (Prevention and Protection) Bill, 2020.

The Islamabad Capital Territory Senior Citizens Bill strives to socially and economically guard the senior citizens of Islamabad.

Whereas, the Domestic Violence (Prevention and Protection) Bill, 2020 ensures that victims of domestic violence are granted legal security and relief and the offenders are punished.

Besides, five bills were also introduced in the House, which includes The Juvenile Justice System (Amendment) Bill, 2021,  The Islamabad Capital Territory Child Protection (Amendment) Bill, 2021, The Holy Quran [Elimination of Printing and Recording Errors) (Amendment) Bill, 2021, The State-Owned Enterprises (Governance and Operations) Bill, 2021 and The Jammu and Kashmir (Administration of Property) (Amendment) Bill, 2021.

The assembly also discussed the agenda and ways and means to run the proceedings of the current session of the National Assembly.

It was agreed to ensure the implementation of SOPs during the National Assembly’s sessions to prevent coronavirus outbreak.

A limited number of press cards will be issued in wake of the COVID-19 and visitor’s galleries would remain closed during the sittings of Assembly.

However, the Sitting of the National Assembly has been adjourned to meet again on Thursday, the 22nd April, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.

The bill had been presented by Chairperson Child Rights Special Committee at SDGs Parliamentary Taskforce.

The bill prohibits all kinds of corporal punishment against children in all educational institutions. Bill was presented by Chairperson Child Rights Special Committee at SDGs Parliamentary Taskforce.

The National Assembly session begins with Speaker Asad Qaiser in the chair. After the bill passes, Qaiser took to his Twitter to applaud this move.

“Corporal punishment is an unacceptable act in the mental development of children. It is our common responsibility to provide a safe environment in the process of education. National Assembly has passed a bill to ban corporal punishment of children, which will play a key role in preventing such a move,” Qaiser wrote.
