Days after being absent from the poster for the forthcoming episode of his popular series, Fukrey 3, actor Ali Fazal released a statement. Along with Richa Chadha, Varun Sharma, Manoj Singh, Pulkit Samrat, and Pankaj Tripathi, he plays the title role of Zafar in the movie. Fans won’t be able to watch him this time because he declined to participate in the movie owing to a busy schedule.

Ali, in a statement, explained his decision and revealed it was either Fukrey or his yet another hit, Mirzapur. He said, “So Zafar aayega ya nahi? Sab yahi puch rahe hain baar baar. Sorry saathiyon, iss baari nahi! Zafar bhai ko kabhi kabhi Guddu bhaiya bhi banna padhta hai. Aur do universes overlap ho jaate hain kabhi kabhi (Everyone is asking me about Zafar not being in Fukrey, sorry my friends, this time he won’t, at times Zafar has to become Guddu and these two universes at times overlap). Once a fukra always a fukra so I am around. . . But I won’t be coming on screen for the third outing of the Fukras, Bholi and Panditji!”

“I would have wanted to be part of it but time and schedules didn’t allow me to. I will be back in the future at some juncture, maybe sooner than you expect. Zafar will be back after a small detour to entertain you guys,” he also added. In Mirzapur, Ali plays the role of Guddu Pandit. The show is slated to return with its third season this year.

The director of Fukrey 3 is Mrighdeep Singh Lamba. Farhan Akhtar previously shared two new movie posters with the caption, “Iss baar hoga chamatkaar, direct from Jamnapaar! On September 7, 2023, #Fukrey3 will be released in theatres (this time, the magic will have come from over the banks of the Jamuna River). Richa Chadha, Varun Sharma, Manoj Singh, Pulkit Samrat, and Pankaj Tripathi were all included in the new posters, but Ali Fazal was missing.

This year, the movie is slated to come out around Janmashtami weekend. Mrighdeep Singh Lamba had previously stated that the Fukrey 3 shoot would end in June 2022.

Although Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani have declared that the original Fukrey cast will return, it appears that Ali Fazal won’t be appearing in the third installment of the successful comedy series. Richa Chadha, Varun Sharma, Manoj Singh, Pulkit Samrat, and Pankaj Tripathi are all included in the new posters, however, Ali Fazal isn’t.

On Tuesday, Farhan Akhtar posted two new movie posters to Twitter and said, “Iss baar hoga chamatkaar, direct from Jamnapaar! On September 7, 2023, #Fukrey3 will be released in theaters (this time, the magic will have come from over the banks of the Jamuna River). The movie is slated for release on September 7 during the Janmashtami weekend. Mrighdeep Singh Lamba is directing it.

Richa is pictured on the first billboard reclining on a sugarcane-made throne as the erstwhile gangster Bholi Punjaban. The actor who portrays Choocha is seen curled up at her feet. Manjot Singh, who plays Lali, is laboring behind the throne while Pankaj Tripathi and Pulkit Samrat are seated on either side of Richa. In the movie series, Pulkit Samrat plays Hunny and Pankaj Tripathi plays Panditji.

In the second poster, the entire male cast forms a human pyramid to scale a brick wall that is inclined at an angle. “Ek naya chumatkar from Jamnapaar” was the film’s tagline.

The Fukrey 3 shoot, according to director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, was officially over in June of last year. He posted a photo of a cake with the words “Fukrey 3 wrap” written on it to Instagram with the caption, “It’s a WRAP #fukrey3. Gratitude to #teamfukrey3. You guys did great. You’re all fuk fuk fuk fuk, everyone. Will undoubtedly miss shoot madness. OK bye.”

In August of last year, Varun Sharma spoke to India Today about Fukrey 3 “The movie, in my opinion, would be hilarious. For all of us, this particular movie holds a very unique place in our hearts. For all of us, it was a beginning. It has been amazing to return to the same character after all these years and pick up where we left off. We are quite excited about the movie because we think it will be fantastic.”
