Madad Ali Sindhi emphasizes importance of skill based education

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Madad Ali Sindhi on ‘World Education Day’ stressed pivotal role of quality skilled-based education for shaping bright future of country and encouraged youth to prepare themselves effectively to confront future challenges while serving nation with honesty.

Talking to media, he said, “Bringing children outside of schools into the educational system is need of hour to address poverty, health, social, and societal issues.”

He said, “Pakistan is moving at a fast pace to develop the education infrastructure and policies at every level, adding, BISP like programs should introduce more to enrolled more students in schools.”

He said, “There is also need for more train and skilled teachers where caretaker government was taking steps practically, adding, Skill based education will only meet market requirements.”

“It is imperative for us to transform our education system in accordance with the modern trends,” said the minister.

“A human resource equipped with skills is the prerequisite to deal with the needs and requirements of the modern age driven by unprecedented technological advancements”, minister mentioned.

He said, “Caretaker government was working on comprehensive policies which will adopt keeping in view the human resource demand of country, region and other world nations.”

He said, “Ministry with the coordination of relevant departments will utilize all existing infrastructure and enhancement of teachers’ capacity building, besides increasing the outreach of education.”

Education Minister inaugurates Latif Art and Literature Festival

  • The two-day festival is organized by Siraj Institute of Sindh Studies.
  • Sindhi said there was need to spread message of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.

KARACHI : Caretaker Federal Minister for Education Madad Ali Sindhi inaugurated the ‘4th Latif Art and Literature Festival -2023 under the theme of ‘Redefining Shah Latif’ at the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi.

The two-day festival is organized by Siraj Institute of Sindh Studies (SISS), which will continue till November 05.

While addressing the inauguration ceremony, the minister said that there was need to spread the message of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai to overcome the re-emerging terrorism incidents in the country.

He said that Latif gave us the message of love and peace. He said that the caretaker government had started crackdown on illegal immigrants to restore law and order situation in the country as the illegal Immigrants were responsible for creating law and order situation.

He said that the people of Sindh should be given rights to live peacefully and action must be taken against settlers, as they use the resources of the province and the real owners of the province were deprived of their rights.

Speaking on the festival, he said that such kind of the festivals would be held in Islamabad, Lahore, and Multan. Sindhi said that he had directed Higher Education Commission (HEC) to only permit University of Karachi (KU) and the University of Sindh, Jamshoro, to produce PhD scholars on Shah Abdul Latif. He said that a number of books had been written on the poetry of Shah Abdul Latif and stressed that then time had come to research on his life.

The Chairperson of Siraj Institute of Sindh Studies Prof. Dr. Fahmida Hussain said that the purpose of the festival was to inform the new generation about teachings and poetry of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai by redefyining them. She said that different sessions would be part of the festival to discuss the message of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.

Replying to a question regarding making Sindhi, Urdu and other languages as optional subjects, he said that a MoU was signed in this regard but he would look into the issue. Replying to another question on quality education, he said that corruption had destroyed the country and education had also been one of its victim.

Edu Minister Madad Ali lauds teachers role shaping young minds

In his message on the auspicious occasion of World Teachers’ Day, he said, “I extend heartfelt appreciation to our teachers/educators who tirelessly inspire, nurture, and guide the future of our country”.

Today, as the Caretaker Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, I want to emphasize our unwavering commitment to three critical pillars of education: equity-based quality education, 21St century learning, and pedagogical skills enhancement, he added. Equity-based quality education ensures that every child, regardless of their background, has access to a world-class education. We are determined to bridge the educational divide and create a fair, inclusive system.

In this era of rapid technological advancement, 21st-century learning is essential. “We must equip our students with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in a globalized, digital world”.

Edu Minister forms committee to probe Urdu University affairs

  • The committee will consist of senior officials of Ministry and HEC.
  • A high-powered committee will review all issues of Urdu University.
  • It will also determine who is responsible for the current problems.

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Madad Ali Sindhi while taking strict notice of irregularities and deteriorating situation in Urdu University, announced to establish a high level fact finding Committee.

In a statement Madad Ali Sindhi said that the committee will consist of senior officials of the Ministry and Higher Education Commission(HEC) .

He said that a high-powered committee would also review the academic, administrative and legal issues in the Urdu University. It will also determine who is responsible for the current problems.

The minister said that the committee will immediately present its findings to the minister on which strict action will be taken.

Madad Ali Sindhi informed that I had a meeting with serving and retired teachers in which all the problems of Urdu University were put before me.

“University cannot run on ad-hoc bases, as it required permanent staff”.

“Only the rule of law can solve the problems”, he added.

President Alvi urges universities to focus on artificial intelligence

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi sought the government’s special attention to provide education to the 27 million out of school children through both traditional and nontraditional ways.

During a meeting with Caretaker Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training, Madad Ali Sindhi who called on President Dr Arif Alvi here, the president also stressed for promotion of quality education and professional training in the country.

He said special arrangements should be made to provide education to the people living in remote areas of the country.

President Alvi also proposed that online tools of education could also be utilized for the provision of education to the people living in remote areas.

He also suggested to utilize various platforms other than school buildings such as mosques to provision education to the people.

Highlighting the importance of education for special persons, the president stressed that special arrangements should also be made for them to give education along with the normal children.

With respect to the girls education, he said the girls should be encouraged to continue their education in schools.

He said the universities should equip their students with skills according to the needs of the market.

The number of people enrolled in universities for higher education in Pakistan is very less compared to other countries in the region, he said adding special measures should be taken to increase the number of people with higher education in the country.

He proposed the universities to provide higher education to more students with the help of online education and different shifts, adding that besides the 4-year programs, the universities should also start 2-year degree programs.

With the help of online and distance education programs of Virtual University and Allama Iqbal Open University, the number of highly educated people can be increased, the president said.

He also stressed the universities to focus on artificial intelligence, machine learning, cyber security and cloud computing

Federal Education Minister visits mausoleum of Quaid e Azam

KARACHI: Caretaker Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Madad Ali Sindhi visited the mausoleum of Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, where he paid his respects and offered Fateha.

The Minister laid a floral wreath at the mausoleum and also penned his comments in the visitors’ book. In his remarks, the minister paid tribute to Qauid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah for his struggle to create a separate homeland.

Speaking on the occasion, the Federal Minister said by following the ideology and sayings of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Pakistan could become a prosperous and developed nation.

Madad Ali Sindhi said that as soon as he took over the charge of the Ministry of Education, he started to visit primary schools as for a long time proper attention had not been paid to government schools. He stressed the need to focus on government schools as 80 percent of children belonging to poor communities study in these schools.

While giving a message to the youth of the country, the Federal Education Minister said that education was the only way of development without it we can not compete with the increasing pace of the developed world.
