Newly elected President LHCBA meets with Imran Khan

LAHORE: The newly elected President of the Lahore High Court Bar Association(LHCBA) Ishtiaq Khan on Sunday arrived at Zaman Park where he had a special meeting with Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan.

In the meeting, former prime minister Imran Khan congratulated President Ishtiaq Khan and others for winning the election of the Lahore High Court Bar Association.

During the meeting, the vision and stance of PTI chief Imran Khan regarding the rule of law and constitution in the country were supported by the newly elected President of the Lahore High Court Bar Association.

In the meeting, the newly elected President of LHCBA strongly condemned the pressure and attacks on the judiciary by the ruling coalition, especially the Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), and also expressed deep concern over the series of political revenge and violations of fundamental constitutional rights in the country.

Ishtiaq Khan said that deviating from the constitution and attacks on the judiciary are condemnable attempts to promote lawlessness in the country. He said the legal community will not compromise on the protection of the constitution and the independence of the judiciary.

The newly elected President of the Lahore High Court Bar Association Ishtiaq Khan further said that the unprecedented struggle of lawyers against the military dictator is a clear reference for today’s trials, under no circumstances will the constitution be allowed to be made a mockery.

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) backed Hamid Khan group won the biometric elections of the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA).

Polling for Biometric Elections of Lahore High Court Bar was held on Saturday in which 2,643 registered lawyer voters exercised their right to vote.

101 Biometric Machines were installed at seven polling stations for Biometric Elections while polling continued till 5 PM without break.

Chairman Election Board Imran Masood announced the election results while Ishtiaq A Khan of Hamid Khan Group backed by PTI has been elected President in Lahore High Court Bar  Association elections.

Rabbiya Bajwa has been elected as the Vice President while Miss Sabahat Ali has been elected as the Secretary and Shah Rukh Shehbaz Waraich has been elected as the Finance Secretary.

It should be noted that fourteen candidates were competing for four seats, for the presidential candidate, Ishtiaq A. Khan and Lehrasib Gondal had a one-to-one contest.

Ishtiaq A Khan was supported by the Professional Group while Lehrasib Gondal was supported by the Independent Group.

The contest for the post of Vice President was between six candidates including Rabbiya Bajwa, Sardar Ali Gehlan, Iftikhar Ahmed Bhatti, Ahmed Khan Gondal, and Rauf Ahmed.

Miss Sabahat Ali Rizvi, Mian Irfan Ali, and Qadir Bakhsh were facing each other on the seat of secretary while Shahrukh Shehbaz Waraich, Ejaz Ahmed Bosal, and Adil Naeem Sheikh were competing on the seat of finance secretary.

The newly elected President of Lahore High Court Bar Association  Ishtiaq A. Khan while addressing the lawyers said the top priorities of the group are to serve the lawyer community and end the distance between the bar and the bench.

He said that he will not tolerate the attack on the sanctity of the judiciary, the basis of democracy is a strong justice system.
