India made history by defeating England by seven wickets in the inaugural edition of the ICC Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup at Potchefstroom. They won the world cup after chasing down England’s target of 69 runs. After the historic win, the Shafali Verma-led Indian side erupted into a dance on the field to the popular song ‘Kala Chashma‘. And, as expected, it has generated a lot of attention and comments on social media.
“Winning on the field and off it. India – ICC Women’s #U19T20WorldCup Champions,” said ICC in an Instagram post. The video shows Women in Blue dancing to the funky Kala Chashma music while wearing green medals around their necks to celebrate their landslide victory. They also recreated the popular Kala Chashma step, in which one twerks and lowers to the ground. “The new ‘Kala Chashma’ champions,” reads a text overlay on the screen.
