LAHORE: The nine new additional judges of the Lahore High Court(LHC) have taken oath of office, after which the number of judge has increased to 43.
New Additional Judges took oath of office at the ceremony, Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Aaliya Neelam administered the oath to the judges. Senior judges, including Justice Shujaat Ali Khan and Justice Ali Baqar Najafi, attended the event.
Justice Hassan Nawaz Makhdoom, Justice Malik Waqar Haider Awan, Justice Sardar Akbar Ali Dogar, Justice Malik Javed Iqbal, Justice Syed Ahsan Raza Kazmi, Justice Muhammad Jawad Zafar, Justice Khalid Ishaq, Justice Malik Muhammad Owais Khalid and Justice Chaudhry Sultan Mahmood are included.
The judges and officers of the Lahore High Court attended the ceremony, and the families of lawyers and newly appointed judges were also present at the ceremony.
Registrar High Court, Abher Gul Khan, performed the duties of governance at the ceremony.
The number of judge in the Lahore High Court has increased to 43 after taking oath of the new judges.
Earlier, Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP), headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi, approved the appointment of nine additional judges to the Lahore High Court (LHC) after careful deliberation.
